So glad to see October come to an end.
What a weird month that was; the store would go from feast to famine each week, there was an illness spreading around the shop and we were dropping like fly’s and then there was the Arlington Guitar Show - a pure beating!
I’ve never so happy to see Halloween come and put this month out of its misery.
The Arlington Show was the strangest guitar show that I have seen in years – ton’s of vendors, but horrible foot traffic (something that is not the norm when it comes to the Arlington Show). We did what we could, and then loaded up for home, happy it was behind us.
Without a doubt ’07 was a bad year for Guitar Show’s as far as we’re concerned.
As for the month of November, we have plenty to keep us busy.
On the 12th we will feature the Gerald Jones “Slow Jam” – a standing room only event, if we’ve ever had one. Come on out and enjoy your favorite Bluegrass standards and play along with Gerald, Sheila and Clay (if you can keep up!).
On the 16th “The Allmost Brothers Band” will be headlining another fine show at Dan’s Silver Leaf in lovely Denton. The boy’s will be rolling out their finest interpretations of the Allman Brothers “Duane era” catalog.
On the store front; we are currently in the best position we’ve ever been in when it comes to the acoustic guitar inventory at this time of the year.
We are fully loaded on Collings, Bourgeois and Martin guitars – something that never seem to happen this late in the year – so now’s your chance to play test what some would consider to be the best made acoustic guitars in the world (not to mention the fine selection of Collings Mandolins we also have).
On the electric front: we are also enjoying an unusually large inventory of Tom Anderson’s for this time of year as well. We also have another very nice collection of Historic Gibson Les Paul’s at this time. And to top it all off; we have a killer ’51 Nocaster Relic, from the Vince Cunetto era.
So come on by if you’re in the neighborhood.
