Gerald Jones is a multi-instrumentalist who teaches banjo, mandolin, and fiddle at Charley's on Saturdays. He's been performing, recording and teaching since the 1970s. His performances and recordings Texas fiddle legend Texas Shorty, showcase his wide range of talents on banjo, guitar, mandolin and fiddle. In addition to impressive performance skills, Gerald has always been quick to share his knowledge. He began teaching almost from the time he started playing. His many students include Dixie Chicks, Emily and Marty.
He has been on the Camp Bluegrass banjo faculty since 1989. He founded Acoustic Music Camp (AcousticMusicCamp.com) that is held in the Dallas area every August. He also teaches many other camps and workshops during the year. His special topic seminars such as “25 Banjo Licks You must Know,” and “How Not To Sound Bad and Other Musical Survival Tips” are very popular.
