Don Townsley

Don brings to Charley’s 16 years of teaching experience in rock, blues, country, jazz acoustic flatpicking and acoustic fingerstyle.

Don started playing professionally at 14 and has been playing guitar for over 30 years. He has been with Custom Made, a corporate party band, for over 20 years and played as an opening act for The Beach Boys, Willie Nelson, The Pointer Sisters, the Temptations, Four Tops, Jay Leno, Frankie Avalon, Three Dog Night, Ben Vereen, Dave Mason, KC and the Sunshine Band and Kool and the Gang.

He has also played for President George W. Bush at the republican convention and inauguration in Washington D.C and in New York City.

 Don has recorded three all original "Snag" CDs as guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He has been nominated thirteen times by the Dallas Songwriters Association for original composition in the "pop" and "love" song categories. He has won three awards from the Dallas Songwriters Association in the pop music category.
